"Assembled" in the USA: what 10 brands in the registry actually say
Published 2026-07-02 · reflects the registry as of the
latest site build · 10 active listings
"Assembled in the USA" and "Made in the USA" are not the same claim, and the FTC treats them differently: an unqualified Made in USA claim requires that "all or virtually all" of a product be of US origin, while "assembled in USA" is its own, narrower claim about where final assembly happens — it says nothing about where the components came from. Ten brands across the registry use assembly-specific language in their own marketing, spanning electronics, home goods, apparel accessories, and furniture. This guide collects them in one place, quoted exactly as published.
Some are explicit about scope: one audio brand says its products are "assembled and tested in the U.S.," a PC builder describes its computers as "designed, assembled, sold, shipped and supported" from one Oregon facility, and a bedding brand pairs "Assembled in the USA" with a direct admission of "fine imported materials" in the same sentence. Others simply use the word without elaborating. Neither approach is wrong — it’s the brand’s own choice of how much to disclose, and the verbatim quote is how you see the difference.
None of this is a finding of mine; I’m not assessing whether any of these ten claims meets the FTC standard, only showing you the words each brand chose. The FTC’s own guidance on the "all or virtually all" standard is at ftc.gov. Each entry links to its full listing with source and recorded date, and headquarters lines name where a company is based, not a factory. Corrections reach me within 10 business days.
